About the Work
Red Harbor evokes the memory of a working port—its structures, machines, and traces—through an abstract language of color, line, and texture. A bold red form anchors the composition, emerging from a layered field of whites, grays, blues, and earth tones. Scratched marks, fragmented lines, and collage elements suggest architecture, movement, and time, while open areas and loose gestures keep the space fluid and unresolved. The painting is less a depiction of a place than a feeling of place—where memory, industry, and the sea converge.
Materials & Process
Built through layers of acrylic, graphite, charcoal, pastel, ink, collage, and cardboard on wood panel. Marks are drawn, covered, and scraped back, allowing fragments of earlier layers to remain visible and giving the surface its accumulated, weathered character.
